This is the PadFoot, and its job is to stand your iPad upright at portrait or landscape mode, as well on a slight angle.
This PadFoot is made of a 3D printed polyamide that only weighs 15 grams so it is easily portable. As you can see, it has that notch in it for holding it upright, but requires quite a flat surface to get that to work, I would imagine.
You should be able to get this at the Shapeways catalog for about $30. It is slightly cheaper than the Just Mobile UpStand, and definitely less expensive than the Joule iPad Stand.
